On February 17th, there’s the release of “The Chant”, Sizzla’s brand new album heavily inspired by his journey to Africa in 2010. Producer is the infamous Caveman from Jamaica’s number one cultural sound “Caveman International”. Reggaeville.com powers the release of “The Chant” and invites you to spread the word and use, share and embed our “The Chant” material. There will be a new interview every two days until Februar 17, where Sizzla reveals very personal thoughts on Africa, the production process, his early years, Judgement Yard, politics, marijuana, Rastafari and more. The interviews were conducted by one of the biggest names in reggae journalism, Peter Tosh biographer John Masouri (Echoes, Riddim Mag, amongst others).

Obrovský světový úspěch reggae – původně lokální hudby jamajských ghett – bezesporu souvisí se jménem Bob Marley a skupinou The Wailers. Nebyla to sice jediná kapela, která by si zasloužila pozornost, ale díky anglo-jamajskému producentovi Chrisi Blackwellovi a promyšlenému marketingu jeho společnosti Island Records pronikly nahrávky Wailers do celého světa a seznámily ho nejen s reggae hudbou, ale i s rastafariánkými idejemi a vírou. Texty Wailers sice nebyly typickou ukázkou ortodoxních rastafariánských doktrín, ale právě v tom možná spočívalo jejich bezproblémové a nadšené přijímání širokými vrstvami celé společnosti. Lupe Fiasco revealed on his website that he and Pharrell are are moving forward with a new joint album. “LUPE AND PHARRELL ALBUM COMING SOON,” the Chicago MC wrote to his fans under the headline “Breaking News.” In addition to his collaboration with Pharrell, he’s also prepping FOOD & LIQUOR 2, the sequel to his 2006 album. “I’m not gonna make the same mistake that I did with Lasers,” he said of last year’s chart-topping set. The CRS album (Kanye West, Pharrell, and Lupe Fiasco) is still on hold indefinitely. In a previous interview with Rap-Up TV, he explained why the CRS album was derailed. “CRS is still tentatively unscheduled until me and Pharrell and Kanye can sit down and come up with a game plan and see if it’s something feasible within the near future or is it something that we should maybe think about putting the brakes to completely,” he said. Towels are waving through the air… In Ucee´s new video its all about the soundclash. Dancehall Queens, Soundbwoys, the crowd and jury takes part as well. It was filmed in location “Suite 15”, club in Regensburg, Germany. The riddim is called “Chupacabra” and was produced by Soulfire Hi-Fi . Camera and edit was made by Landoman, LMPIX Production. French reggae band Dub Incorporated stands for the harmonious voices of Bouchkour and Komlan, who mix Eastern and reggae influences with the energetic power of ragga dancehall. Even though many fans considers Dub Inc to be ‘the best reggae made in France’, the media ignores their very existence. As a consequence, their first album Diversité acquired the status of must-have in France thanks to an alternative network. Result: more than 10,000 CDs sold and a heap of sold-out concerts, but still no media attention. The album Afrikya was voted Best French Reggae Album at the Web Reggae Awards 2008. Upcoming roots-talent Tarrus Riley was invited onto their newest album Hors contrôle. Their explosive live-acts are now known to our audience (our fans quote Dub Inc to the top-3 of most wanted artists!) that are happy to be whipped into a frenzy by Dub Inc’s militant eloquence and energetic stage show.
